Pancreatic islet senescence in experimental models

Kong BS et al. · Experimental & Molecular Medicine
25 August 2025

Study question & design
Researchers examined MOTS-c in aging pancreatic islets and in mouse models of metabolic and autoimmune dysfunction.
Reported findings
Treatment reduced several islet-senescence measures and improved glucose intolerance in the studied mouse models. Separate human measurements found lower circulating levels in people with type 2 diabetes.
Limits of interpretation
The intervention evidence is preclinical. The human comparison measured endogenous peptide levels; it was not a trial administering MOTS-c to patients.

Circulating MOTS-c in obesity and after weight loss

Yoon SH et al. · Journal of Clinical & Translational Endocrinology
February 2026 · online 30 December 2025

Study question & design
The study compared circulating MOTS-c in 22 lean controls and 32 adults with obesity scheduled for bariatric surgery.
Reported findings
Levels were higher in the obesity group and associated with metabolic measurements. Circulating levels remained unchanged after postoperative weight loss in the reported follow-up.
Limits of interpretation
Associations do not establish cause or treatment response. Surgery and endogenous peptide measurements cannot be used as evidence of efficacy for a supplied MOTS-c vial.

These notes describe selected publications, not a systematic review. They provide no dosing or treatment instructions. A published study does not establish the identity, purity, safety, efficacy or regulatory approval of an AUVYRON product.
