BPC-157: interpreting a two-person pilot
Lee E and Burgess K · Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine September 2025
Study question & design
A short pilot monitored laboratory measurements and vital signs in two adults who had previously received BPC-157.
Reported findings
The authors reported no side effects or measurable changes in the tested laboratory markers during the brief observation period.
Limits of interpretation
Two previously exposed participants, no control group and short follow-up cannot establish general safety, rare harms or tissue-repair efficacy. The blend was not studied.
Sosne G and Ousler GW · Clinical Ophthalmology 20 May 2015
Study question & design
A single-center phase 2 trial randomized 72 people with dry eye to a thymosin beta-4 ophthalmic formulation or placebo.
Reported findings
Neither primary efficacy endpoint differed significantly between groups, although some secondary measures improved.
Limits of interpretation
Secondary findings should not obscure the primary results. Full-length thymosin beta-4 eye drops are not interchangeable with TB-500 or the combined portfolio presentation.
