Different telomere pathways in normal and cancer cells

Al-dulaimi S et al. · Biogerontology
4 September 2025

Study question & design
Researchers measured telomeres and associated pathways in normal epithelial and fibroblast cells and two breast-cancer cell lines exposed to epitalon.
Reported findings
Telomere extension in normal cells was associated with increased telomerase activity. Cancer cell lines also showed extension, with activation of an alternative telomere-lengthening pathway.
Limits of interpretation
Cultured human cells are not human clinical evidence. The cancer-cell findings preclude treating telomere extension as an automatically beneficial outcome; human longevity and safety were not tested.

Retinal epithelial repair under high-glucose stress

Gatta M et al. · Stem Cell Reviews and Reports
10 June 2025

Study question & design
An ARPE-19 retinal pigment epithelial cell model examined repair after high-glucose injury and exposure to epitalon.
Reported findings
The study reported improved scratch-wound closure and reductions in markers associated with epithelial-mesenchymal transition and fibrosis.
Limits of interpretation
A cell-culture repair assay is not evidence of restored vision or treatment of diabetic retinopathy in people. Delivery to the retina and clinical safety remain separate questions.

These notes describe selected publications, not a systematic review. They provide no dosing or treatment instructions. A published study does not establish the identity, purity, safety, efficacy or regulatory approval of an AUVYRON product.
