Age and the response to kisspeptin-10

Ullah H et al. · Andrologia
May 2019 · online 27 December 2018

Study question & design
Investigators measured short-term hormonal responses to kisspeptin-10 in healthy adult, middle-aged and older men.
Reported findings
LH increased in all age groups, whereas a significant testosterone increase was observed only in the younger adult group.
Limits of interpretation
The observation window was approximately two hours after administration. Hormonal responsiveness does not establish long-term clinical benefit, and results should not be generalized across sexes.

LH pulses in an early kisspeptin-10 study

George JT et al. · Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism
August 2011

Study question & design
Small experimental groups of healthy men were studied to examine the effects of kisspeptin-10 on LH concentration and pulse dynamics.
Reported findings
Kisspeptin-10 stimulated LH; infusion experiments also showed changes in LH pulse frequency and testosterone.
Limits of interpretation
Small groups and short exposure limit inference. Reproductive outcomes and long-term safety were not established, and the findings do not test commercial research products.

These notes describe selected publications, not a systematic review. They provide no dosing or treatment instructions. A published study does not establish the identity, purity, safety, efficacy or regulatory approval of an AUVYRON product.
