A responsive KPV prodrug for oral delivery
Cheng J et al. · Science Advances 16 January 2026
Study question & design
Investigators engineered an inflammation-responsive peptide-conjugate platform and tested a KPV-based prodrug in cell and mouse models.
Reported findings
The KPV conjugate improved delivery to inflamed colon tissue and reduced inflammatory measures in mouse colitis and acute-lung-injury models.
Limits of interpretation
The intervention was a modified delivery construct, not plain KPV. Animal results do not establish human efficacy or safety; the paper discloses a related pending patent.
Targeted KPV nanoparticles in experimental colitis
Xiao B et al. · Molecular Therapy 5 July 2017
Study question & design
KPV was loaded into hyaluronic-acid-functionalized nanoparticles within a hydrogel to target inflamed intestinal tissue.
Reported findings
The system promoted uptake in relevant cells and improved mucosal-damage and inflammatory measures in a mouse colitis model.
Limits of interpretation
The findings depend on a specialized delivery system and experimental model. They do not establish human colitis treatment or equivalent effects from an unrelated KPV preparation.
These notes describe selected publications, not a systematic review. They provide no dosing or treatment instructions. A published study does not establish the identity, purity, safety, efficacy or regulatory approval of an AUVYRON product.
